A Vinnova project that was initiated by Silentium AB in 2018. In collaboration with a number of retail chains they researched how to add value to the in store experience. They came up with the idea to offer customers possibility to get quick help via video chat with experts sitting at a remote location. The customer used the camera of their cellphone to film where they were in the store and shelves with products. By chatting with a shopadviser they could get help to find the correct product or ask technical questions. This made it possible for the experts to serve several stores from one location thus sharing expert resources and the customer to get quicker help and better advice.

We were contacted the summer of 2020 and quickly turned their idea into a digital solution during the following autumn. The app was published in November 2020 on AppStore and Google Play. We tested both app and system live at Bygg-Ole in Nacka (Stockholm) in January 2021 with remote Shopadvisers helping customers via video. Due to lack of proper financing for new features we opted out of the project after this successful collaboration.
